It is a story of love and friendship, forgiveness and restoration. It is a story of faith and hope, sadness and joy. It is simply a story every person needs to read. Mrs. Boeshaar has created characters with real problems, real emotions, and causes the reader to care what happens to each individual. We empathize with Allie as she strives to mend relationships broken years before. We feel Jack's anger and yearn for him to find peace. We smile as Logan and Marilee fall in love, and weep when sadness strikes. We feel pity and compassion for Cynthia, wishing we could help this pathetic, lost creature find her way before it's too late. Even secondary characters are brought to life in a way that makes them real and important to the outcome of the story.
