Echelon Press has released Moushumi Chakrabarty's ebook 'Positive Thoughts for Writers' as a Dollar Download. It is available at http://www.echelonpress.com/Dollar/Element/mc-ptfw.htm. The eBook is aimed at novice and aspiring writers who are frustrated by rejections which are a usual part of the writing process. In the book, the author has listed ways to up the morale of the writer who may feel intimidated by the thought of putting his thoughts down, of not being accepted by the writing community, of not being consistent enough in producing coherent writing. It may be used by college and high school students who also have a fair amount of writing work to do.

It is written in an easy-to-read humorous style and as a reviewer of the book put it, "Throughout the book, the author maintains a friendly style that talks directly to the reader. The prose is liberally garnished with well-expressed metaphors and similes that help illustrate each point."

William R. Pekarek has authored The American Way, a book of editorial type articles that offers comments and musings on all things USA.

Bill Pekarek describes himself as just a little ole country boy, which is not to say that he grew up in the hills, wearing overalls and going barefoot. No, this country boy is university educated and spent more than 40 years in the electronic, aluminum and nuclear power industries.

His opinions and feelings about all things American spring from simpler times and old fashion family values. The first one-third of the book is directed more toward the younger person in high school, college or just entering the work force for the first time. He provides a lot of commonsense advice on subjects as diverse as raising children, buying a house, choosing a mate and business tactics that one should learn and master. The balance of the book covers just about every topic that touches the average middle-age person or senior citizen: politics, the economy, taxes, social security, terrorism, retirement/pension and a frank discussion about the generic drug/prescription drug dilemma and cost.

You can either read this collection of comments and musings from beginning to end, or you can just open it up at any page. Either way, when reading this book you will find in the company of a man who is talking to you as if you were just across the table, talking to you about the things in life we all care about. You won't always agree with him, but he may make you rethink some things, and he may even change your mind about some others. In the end, you'll at least know you've had a good conversation with a man who cares about this country, its people and is "American Proud."

If you have any questions, comments, or wish to purchase an autographed copy of the book you may contact the author directly on email at blpek57@adelphia.net or you may go to our internet site at www.the-american-way.com.

    George Henaut Publishes New Novel,
    With Love, With Connie

December 12, 1997 is an extraordinary day in Robert Mascaux's life, involving him in a family funeral, his second wedding and a birthday party for a celebrity.

This romantic novel begins with a flashback to 1959, in Northumbria, a coastal community in Nova Scotia. Robert, a high school student, resides at the Manor, a private nursing home owned by his parents, Bertha and Camille, immigrants from Belgium. Robert's home life is enriched by his 'foster grandparents', the Manor residents. When Robert becomes a member of a Connie Francis fan club, he begins a lengthy correspondence with Rachel Turner, the club's teenage president, who lives on an estate in Flanders Cove, Connecticut, with her reclusive, artistic aunts, fondly called 'the bouquet'.

The reader discovers the enduring power of love through the struggles and triumphs that Robert and Rachel encounter during their friendship, spanning 38 years. The novel depicts the influence that singers can have on their fans and also reveals parallels that can exist between the lives of singers and their admirers. The music of Connie Francis is the thread of continuity for the couple for whom fate, an international border, family responsibilities, and a sinister villain delayed their marriage until December 12, 1997.

George R. Henaut has an abiding interest in language – its power and its beauty. His career as an educator provided many opportunities to enhance and share this passion with others. Since 1990 he has written, directed and produced ten dramas for audiences in his native Nova Scotia. His plays and short stories have been influenced not only by life on the Atlantic seaboard, but also by his Christian spirituality and appreciation of traditional family values. All of these influences have culminated in his first novel, With Love, With Connie, which also reveals his enduring appreciation of the music of Connie Francis. His greatest desire is to share this romantic, yet turbulent story of Robert and Rachel with others.
